Met Music Director James Levine, conducting his first-ever performances of the opera, leads the cast in Otto Schenk's acclaimed 2006 production.
The 2010-11 season of The Met: Live in HD is broadcast live or as encore performances (as scheduling permits) at the Lake Placid Center for the Arts. All shows begin at 1 p.m. unless noted. The season continues with: "La Fanciulla del West" (live on Jan. 8); "Don Carlo" (encore on Jan. 22); "Nixon in China" (encore on Feb. 13); "Iphigenie en Tauride" (live on Feb. 26); "Lucia di Lammermoor" (live on March 19); "Le Comte Ory" (live on April 9); "Capriccio" (live on April 23); "Il Trovatore" (live on April 30); and "Die Walkure" (live on May 14 at noon).
Tickets are $18 for general admission, $16 for LPCA members and $12 for students 18 and under. Opera enthusiasts may also purchase mini-series six-packs (a choice of performances) at the following prices: $96 for general admission, $90 for LPCA members and $60 for students.
Upon arrival, audience members will also have the opportunity to order Box Lunches from Saranac Sourdough which will be delivered for intermission. Lunches are $10 and there will be a choice of vegetarian, meat or salad.
