Floyd Mayweather

Although many boxing fans have probably given up on the idea of a Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Manny Pacquiao fight ever taking place, it didn’t stop the question being asked during the Filipino’s Pacquiao vs. Margarito post-fight interview on Saturday night.

As recently reported by whatisthetrend.net, following on from last night’s victory over Antonio Margarito, Manny was faced with questions on whether or not he wants to take on Floyd Mayweather Jr. Pacquiao simply said that if a fight is going to happen, it will happen.

However, Manny then stated that he doesn’t need to defeat the currently undefeated Mayweather Jr. just to prove his worthiness to people. Pacquiao’s victory over Margarito means that he has now claimed the WBC World Super Welterweight Championship title.

At this moment in time there is no deal set between the Pacquiao and Mayweather camps, but it isn’t to say that there won’t be in the future. Although there have been several scandals between the two, Pacquiao’s camp is still open to negotiate a possible deal with Mayweather.

Do you think a Mayweather Jr. vs. Pacquiao fight will ever take place?
