Floyd Mayweather

Although many boxing fans have probably given up on the idea of a Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Manny Pacquiao fight ever taking place, it didn’t stop the question being asked during the Filipino’s Pacquiao vs. Margarito post-fight interview on Saturday night.

As recently reported by whatisthetrend.net, following on from last night’s victory over Antonio Margarito, Manny was faced with questions on whether or not he wants to take on Floyd Mayweather Jr. Pacquiao simply said that if a fight is going to happen, it will happen.

However, Manny then stated that he doesn’t need to defeat the currently undefeated Mayweather Jr. just to prove his worthiness to people. Pacquiao’s victory over Margarito means that he has now claimed the WBC World Super Welterweight Championship title.

At this moment in time there is no deal set between the Pacquiao and Mayweather camps, but it isn’t to say that there won’t be in the future. Although there have been several scandals between the two, Pacquiao’s camp is still open to negotiate a possible deal with Mayweather.

Do you think a Mayweather Jr. vs. Pacquiao fight will ever take place?

New York Ranger stars Sean Avery and Henrik Lundqvist became distracted by curvy Scarlett Johansson while visiting the set of "Saturday Night Live." Johansson was rehearsing for last night's co-hosting gig and warming up with funnygal Kristen Wiig. "Both players did a double take at Scarlett," said a source.

The Rangers regained their focus enough to give Kenan Thompson and Bobby Moynihan a sneak peek at the new jerseys the team will begin wearing on the ice Wednesday.

Manny Pacquiao vs Antonio Margarito

ARLINGTON, Texas — By the time they step into the ring Saturday night for their super welterweight title showdown at Cowboys Stadium, Antonio Margarito could outweigh Manny Pacquiao by as much as 15-to-20 pounds.
At Friday's weigh-in, Margarito tipped the scales at 150 pounds, which is the catch weight the fighters agreed to. Pacquiao came in at 144.6 pounds, well under the limit, which caused a buzz among the news media covering the fight because of how low his weight was.

Margarito (38-6, 27 KOs) is expected to re-hydrate to about 162-165 pounds by the start of the fight, which will be televised on HBO pay-per-view starting at 9 p.m. ET. Pacquiao (51-3-2, 38 KOs) doesn't figure to come in at more than 147 pounds.
