The former N.F.L. running back David Meggett was sentenced to 30 years in prison after his conviction in South Carolina on criminal sexual conduct and burglary. Authorities say Meggett raped a college student at her house in North Charleston in January 2009. Meggett was a running back and a punt returner for 10 years in the N.F.L. He played six years with the Giants.
