I have been in constant contact with Providence House as they brace for Tomas. Everyone is fine at this point but I can hear anxiety in their voices. It is hard to have the people you love the most in such a vulnerable situation. Madeleine, my sister-friend who grew up in Haiti and now lives in St. Paul and has a ministry in Haiti, wrote a beautiful post this morning as her "mind was restless and from time to time replaying the memories of hurricane Allen in 1980".
