Police shot to death a deer that had broken through a window into a mattress store in Lincoln.Police say the deer destroyed about $1,200 worth of property inside the showroom as it ran around on Thursday afternoon.
Lincoln Police Capt. Anthony Butler told the Lincoln Journal Star that the deer was stuck between a wall and a bed when officers arrived.
Police consulted with animal control, Nebraska Game and Parks experts and veterinarians. Butler says officers were advised to shoot the deer.
Butler says no store worker was injured.
