Potter and the Deathly Hallows Review

Many people are waiting eagerly to see the latest Harry Potter movie, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Pt 1 which was premiered in London last night and on general release on November 19. Back in September we brought you news of a movie trailer and the glimpses we saw looked amazing but now we’re wondering what the reviews say and have put together a review roundup for you.

The first we read was by Chris Tookey over on the Mail Online who gave the film only 3 stars out of 5. Tookey notes how this latest in the series has become even darker with very little light relief and points out the movie is really just setting the scene for Part 2, the eighth movie. It does however praise the acting and says the best part is seeing Harry, Ron and Hermione working together very much as a team again.

Melanie McDonagh over on This is London, also gives a rating of 3/5 stars, saying this is the bleakest Harry Potter movie so far and although it was gripping noted, the very sudden ending of the film. However Allan Hunter from The Express gives the film a rating of 5/5 calling it “gritty and intense” and praising the performances of the cast who he says “rise to the challenge.” The only negative point, he feels, is having to wait till next summer to see the final instalment.
